On my car trip to work, I brought up Instuctables to see the proper hand placement. I know it's way too tight. Right now it's practice, practice, practice!
I'm teaching myself needle tatting the same way --- via YouTube! I purchased a Craftsy class but it did not cover the beginning basics (even though it was supposed to be a beginner level class).

DeleteIs that needle tatting you are doing? I could *never* figure out how to tat with a shuttle. Everyone makes it look so easy but it simply confounds me. Then I "discovered" needle tatting and it makes perfect sense to me! I absolutely loved making colored tatted edgings to trim the garments I made for my girls when they were little.
ReplyDeleteThe only problem I have encountered is that I can't "translate" traditional tatting instructions into something that will work with a needle. I'm sure there is a way to do it. I was just so happy to be able to do what I did. :-)
Edgings sound like a neat way to use your tatting. I'll try that when I get good at this!!
